The episode begins with twin sisters Mafuyu and Kimura walking home when Mafuyu receives a troubling notification from her ex. Distracted, her sister shows her a viral “cursed” video rumored to cause death after viewing.
Despite initial skepticism, Mafuyu loses consciousness and mysteriously walks into the path of an oncoming train, resulting in a broken arm.
Admitted to Tenikai General Hospital, Dr. Sumida, her attending psychiatrist, dismisses any connection to the video, attributing Mafuyu’s condition to stress. Unconvinced, Kimura seeks a second opinion from Dr. Takanashi. Their discussion was overheard by Dr. Ameku which piqued her curiosity.
Intrigued, Ameku started an investigation, questioning Mafuyu and analyzing the supposed cursed video. The video is found to contain subliminal, grotesque flashing images capable of triggering epileptic seizures.
