Bleach Asics collaboration pays tribute to Ichigo and Renji
The Bleach Asics shoes showcase two iconic characters from the anime series: Ichigo Kurosaki and Renji Abarai. Each design pays homage to their unique identities and abilities.
The Ichigo design is based off the GT-2160 model, featuring a black, white, and orange color scheme that reflects his shinigami attire. The heel cap displays a skull symbol, representing his Hollowfication, while the collar features his name in Kanji, “黒崎一護.”
As the protagonist of Bleach, Ichigo is a seemingly ordinary high school student who discovers his hidden powers as a Soul Reaper. After encountering Rukia Kuchiki, an injured Soul Reaper, Ichigo absorbs her powers to save her life, embarking on a journey to protect the human world from evil spirits.
The Renji design incorporates his bright red hair color as the base, honoring his shinigami appearance.
The heel cap features his Gotei 13 insignia and number, the number 6 in Kanji, and a camellia flower, while the collar displays his name in Kanji, “阿散井恋次.”
Renji is a lieutenant in the 6th Division of the Gotei 13, known for his skilled swordsmanship. His zanpakuto, Zabimaru, is a snake-like sword that can transform into various forms.
Bleach is a popular Japanese manga and anime series created by Tite Kubo. The story follows Ichigo as he battles Hollows, evil spirits that feed on human emotions, while also taking on the complexities of the Soul Society, the afterlife realm where Soul Reapers reside.
The Bleach anime series first premiered in Japan in 2004, making 2024 a significant year as it marks the series’ 20th anniversary.
