Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 10 picks up after the climactic battle where Shunsui Kyoraku used the full power of his Bankai, Katen Kyokotsu Karamatsu Shinju, to finally defeat Lille Barro.
The grueling fight left the Captain Commander battered and drained, a reminder of the steep cost of victory in the war against Yhwach’s forces.
With Lille’s defeat marking a turning point, the battlefield now shifts to new threats and unresolved conflicts.
As the Shinigami press on, the looming question is whether their strength will be enough to overcome the relentless challenges still ahead.
Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 9
Bleach Thousand Year Blood War episode 35 started with Mayuri Kurotsuchi appearing to have defeated Pernida Parnkgjas. However, his modified Konjiki Ashisogi Jizo was deformed and destroyed, revealing that Pernida was still alive.
At the same time, Kisuke Urahara and Shunsui Kyōraku noticed fluctuations in Mayuri’s spiritual pressure. Kisuke dismissed the changes as typical of Mayuri, but Shunsui sensed the spiritual pressure fading.
Meanwhile, Lille Barro watched the Shinigami and assumed they were afraid because they didn’t know where his attack would come from. Shunsui prepared to counter.
Lille fired a shot through Shunsui’s chest, believing he had killed him. However, Shunsui appeared behind him, initiating the children’s game “Daruma-san ga Koronda.”
Lille, confused about how Shunsui survived, listened as Shunsui explained the rules of the game, which allowed him to track spiritual pressure and make precise attacks. Lille assumed Shunsui’s static image was an illusion, but Shunsui clarified it was his solidified spiritual pressure, a feat possible because of his position as Captain-Commander.
Nanao Ise relayed Shunsui’s message to Shinji Hirako and others, urging them to continue forward while he held off Lille. Shinji agreed, trusting Shunsui to take responsibility as their leader.
On the battlefield, Shunsui combined Daruma-san ga Koronda with Kageoni to attack Lille. Lille responded with his X-Axis ability, wounding Shunsui and explaining that his attacks could pierce anything, leaving no room for evasion.
Lille struck what appeared to be a fatal blow, creating a gaping hole in Shunsui’s chest. However, Shunsui revealed he had used Kageokuri, a shadow-based afterimage technique inspired by another children’s game, to avoid the attack.
Taking advantage of the moment, Shunsui severed Lille’s sniper rifle, Diagramme, but Lille regenerated it using Reishi. Lille then opened his left eye, releasing the full power of his X-Axis, which made him immune to physical attacks. This power could only be maintained briefly, but Lille could hold it indefinitely after activating it three times.
Lille transformed further by activating his Vollständig, Jilliel, gaining a strange form with multiple wings. In this enhanced state, Lille overwhelmed Shunsui, severely injuring him and forcing him to retreat to a distant building.
Lille pursued, declaring himself invincible. Even Shunsui’s use of advanced Kido techniques, including Hado No. 78: Zangerin, did not affect Lille.
Meanwhile, Ichigo Kurosaki battled Askin Nakk Le Vaar. Askin speculated about Ichigo’s resistance to Reishi poisoning and planned to increase the potency of his Gift Ball to gain the upper hand.
Shunsui reflected on the situation and activated his Bankai, Katen Kyokotsu Karamatsu Shinju. The Bankai changed the battlefield, turning the sky jaundiced yellow. Both allies and enemies felt the oppressive atmosphere. Shunsui asked Lille if the surroundings felt bleak and lonely.
Lille acknowledged the change but claimed it wasn’t enough to affect him. The first act of Shunsui’s Bankai caused wounds inflicted on him to appear on Lille as well, though these injuries couldn’t kill either of them.
The second act caused dark spots to spread across Lille’s body, making him bleed heavily. Shunsui described the act with a grim tale of a man regretting his actions after harming another.
In the third act, the two fighters were submerged in deep water. Shunsui explained that they would remain there until one of them ran out of spiritual pressure and die. At this moment, Shunsui’s Zanpakutō spirit, Katen, appeared and embraced him.
Shunsui affectionately referred to Katen as Ohana and shared a brief moment with her. He then activated the final act of his Bankai, Itokiribasami Chizome no Nodobue. This ability wrapped a thread around Lille’s throat, cutting it and detonating his head.
As Lille fell into the abyss, Shunsui collapsed from his injuries, coughing blood, and landed in Ohana’s lap. The episode ended with Ohana expressing relief that Shunsui had won the fight.
