In Bleach Thousand Year Blood War episode 33, Yhwach commanded his Sternritter—Lille Barro, Gerard Valkyrie, Pernida Parnkgjas, Askin Nakk Le Vaar, and Uryu Ishida—to confront the Soul Reapers who had entered the Wahrwelt. He ordered them to collect a cup of their opponents’ blood to toast the creation of a new world.

Meanwhile, Shunsui Kyoraku and Kisuke Urahara observed the massive castle. Shunsui decided it was disrespectful to delay further, so he prepared to lead the Soul Reapers toward the castle. At the same time, Bazz-B and the Bambi sisters—Candice, Liltotto, Meninas, and Giselle—chose to leave the group.

In another part of Wahrwelt, Yoruichi Shihoin sensed the spiritual energy of the Soul Reapers heading toward the castle. Ichigo Kurosaki decided they should head there, too. Meanwhile, Shunsui noticed that Mayuri Kurotsuchi was missing.

It was revealed that Mayuri and Nemu had entered a different part of Wahrwelt. He had closed and reopened the gate to go off independently, eager to test his experiments.

Kenpachi Zaraki, Ikkaku Madarame, Yumichika Ayasegawa, and Hanataro Yamada arrived through the same gate. Kenpachi had missed the initial entry but seized the opportunity to follow when Mayuri reopened it.

Elsewhere, Ichigo, Orihime, and their group advanced toward the castle. Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, however, argued against moving in a large group and instead began chasing Askin Nakk Le Vaar, who attempted to flee rather than fight.

During the chase, Askin unleashed his “Gift Ball,” a poison attack that immobilized Grimmjow. Simultaneously, Lille Barro launched a surprise attack on the Soul Reapers, injuring many opponents.

Shunsui instructed everyone to continue toward the castle despite the disruption. Renji Abarai followed orders and pushed forward but was soon intercepted by Uryu.

Renji questioned Uryu’s loyalty, asking if he had already fought Ichigo. Uryu admitted he had but stated he planned to finish Ichigo in their next encounter. During their intense battle, Renji unleashed his true Bankai, Soo Zabimaru, and gained the upper hand.

In response, Uryu activated his Vollstandig, a powerful transformation that enhanced his abilities. Renji attempted to trap him using Hihitensho, recalling Ichibe Hyosube’s advice to charge his Zanpakuto with spiritual pressure for at least 20 seconds to unlock its full potential.

However, Uryu countered with Sklaverei, regenerating his wounds, and unleashed Feder Zwinger, a technique that drained Renji’s spiritual energy and neutralized his Shikai and Bankai.

Despite this, Renji used his little power to activate one last move. Uryu then fired a single arrow, piercing Soo Zabimaru, and struck Renji directly. The episode ended with Uryu standing victorious over Renji.
