The Blue Lock season 2 cast welcomes a wave of talented newcomers, each with a unique skill set and a burning ambition to become the next egotistical striker Japan needs.
These new challengers were introduced at the end of season 1, which aired from October 9, 2022, to March 26, 2023.
But who exactly are these mystery players ready to shake up the Blue Lock hierarchy? Let’s meet the exciting new faces joining Isagi and company in their fight for football supremacy.
What is Blue Lock about?
Blue Lock is the anime adaptation of a popular sports manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura.
The original manga series was released in Koshanda’s Weekly Shonen Magazine and was serialized on August 14, 2018.
The anime adaptation, capturing the high-octane action and strategic battles of the manga, was brought to life by Japanese animation studio 8bit.
The story revolves around Yoichi Isagi, a talented high school footballer with a singular goal — to become the world’s best striker and lead Japan to World Cup victory.
However, after a crushing defeat, Isagi gets recruited into the enigmatic Blue Lock project. Under the eccentric coach Jinpachi Ego, Isagi finds himself pitted against 300 other strikers in a ruthless training program designed to forge the ultimate egotistical striker.
Alliances are formed, strategies are devised, and only the most cunning and adaptable players will survive.
