Blue Lock season 2 episode 11 recap
Blue Lock season 2 episode 11 titled “What You Taught Us,” picked up right where the previous episode ended. Reo Mikage and Ryusei Shidou were locked in a fierce duel, with Shidou pushing to score a goal.
However, Reo used his “Chameleon Defense” to block Shidou’s attempt and taunted him. Afterward, Yoichi Isagi set his sights on Oliver Aiku as his next opponent, while Shidou reflected on his ‘freedom’ after being denied by Reo.
The match resumed with Team U-20 Japan on the attack. Itoshi Sae, determined to highlight Shidou’s abilities, made a long pass across the field to an open space. Shidou quickly pursued the free ball and found himself mere inches away from scoring with no defenders.
Just as he was about to finish, his shot was blocked by Gin Gagamaru, who sprinted outside the penalty box and deflected the ball with a header. Shidou, still in his rhythm, executed a spectacular backflip and bicycle kick from midfield. His astonishing shot sailed past everyone and landed in the net, earning Team U-20 Japan the lead at 3-2.
Shidou’s goal, dubbed the Big Bang Drive, sent shockwaves across the field, and Jinpachi Ego quickly recognized Shidou as the first player to achieve a flow state during the match. Overcome with excitement, Shidou tackled Sae in celebration, only for Sae to shove him off in irritation.
Team Blue Lock faced mounting pressure as the match grew more intense, with the crowd and the scoreboard against them. Yoichi Isagi approached Ego, pleading for help and demanding a tactical shift.
Ego, however, was firm, stating that every player on the field had already awakened their egos and that he could not intervene further. Frustrated, Isagi challenged Ego’s stubbornness, urging him to take a risk for Team Blue Lock.
Ego finally relented and substituted Otoya Eita for Shoei Baro. Before Baro stepped onto the field, Ego admitted he wasn’t sure how Baro would fit into the current game dynamic. Isagi instructed Baro to focus on the right wing, but Baro brushed off his teammates, mocking anyone who tried to communicate with him.
Rin Itoshi then decided that standard tactics were no longer necessary. He called for Team Blue Lock to seize every opportunity to score, pushing them to adopt relentless guerrilla-style play. With the pressure shifting, Team U-20 Japan began prioritizing defense against Blue Lock’s powerful shooters.
The ball reached Isagi, who prepared for a critical shot, but Baro intercepted it instantly. Seizing the moment, Baro dashed to the right wing and launched a powerful strike from a difficult angle. The shot narrowly missed, striking the crossbar.
The deflected ball landed perfectly at Kenyu Yukimiya’s feet. At that moment, Yukimiya entered his flow state. He swiftly advanced toward the goal, showcasing his exceptional dribbling skills, which resembled the flair of street soccer, possibly inspired by Brazilian techniques. With precise control, he angled himself for a shot and aimed from a tight position, hoping to score.
However, just as the ball was about to reach the net, Oliver Aiku appeared out of nowhere and blocked Yukimiya’s shot. Isagi immediately realized that Aiku, too, had awakened his flow state during the game.
The episode concluded with the ball still in play, leaving both teams scrambling for control as the tension peaked.
