The anime was adapted by 8-bit, with season 1 airing from October 9, 2022, to March 26, 2023

The story centers on Yoichi Isagi, a talented high school footballer with a burning ambition to become the world’s best striker and lead Japan to World Cup glory.

However, the Japanese national team lacks a ruthless, game-changing striker with the killer instinct to secure victories.

Season 1 began with the Introduction arc, where 300 of Japan’s most promising under-20 (U-20) strikers received an unexpected invitation. Mastermind Ego Jinpachi, tasked with forging a world-class striker for the Japanese national team, launched the radical Blue Lock program.

Blue Lock created an environment that transformed the talented forwards into rivals, forcing them to compete in a series of rigorous Selection arcs.

Each arc served as an elimination round, with only the strongest players advancing. Viewers of season 1 witnessed the grueling Third Selection arc, which whittled down the competition, setting the stage for the UA-20 arc.

Season 2 promises an electrifying showdown, with all eyes on Rin Itoshi, Blue Lock’s best player. He faces off against his older brother, Sae Itoshi, the star player of the Japan U-20 team.
