Chainsaw Man chapter 189 recap
After forming an insidious contract with The Aging Devil, Mifune’s body organs are sacrificed to keep the Black Chainsaw Man at bay. But with the battle at a stalemate, it’s up to Denji, Asa, and Hirofumi to overcome a Primal Fear.
Chapter 189: “Heart Pass, Octopus” opens up with Hirofumi successfully using the Octopus Devil’s power in the real world via Pochita’s mouth. He shortly withdraws a severed tentacle from Denji’s throat, saying they’d be killed as soon as they escaped.
Yoru tries to blow The Aging Devil up with one of her hands but misses. When she climbs out to get a look, their nemesis immediately ages her forward, and she pulls back – asking the boys if she still has her looks (Denji calls her cute).
The Aging Devil discovers their plan and calls the fight futile. It eggs Pochita on, saying its flesh tastes like lotus root. Just then, a second Fumiko Mifune casually appears out of nowhere next to her dying form.
Smiling, she recalls her promise to “side with the likelier winner” in her dying moments and signals to her unfortunate clone, who surrenders her heart to Yoshida, killing her.
He thanks her from the other side, gives Fumiko’s heart to the Octopus Devil, and orders it to swallow. Afterwards, a gargantuan humanoid head trailed by large tentacles bursts through the roof.
