Curious to know more about Ash and his background, Sakuya visits the orphanage he grew up in, and uses her Geass on one of the nuns there to learn more about his past.
It soon becomes evident that Ash Phoenix isn’t a cold-blooded murderer, but a genuine friend and ally of her father’s all along. Though he blames himself for the murder of Jugo Sumeragi, he wasn’t the one who pulled the trigger.

Meanwhile, in the royal quarters, Sakura finds herself a new ally in Walther Lindstedt, who was in fact princess Sherry’s knight. As a devoted retainer of the past princess, he swore his allegiance to both Sakura and Sakuya.
After laying in wait for so long, Christoph Scissorman captures an unsuspecting Sakuya. Wearing a Geass immune helmet, he takes her back to his quarters with the intent of looking into her Geass.
