Dandadan episode 3 recap
The episode began with Momo’s grandmother, Seiko Ayase, attempting to prove her abilities as a spirit medium on a TV show by answering questions posed by a celebrity. However, all of Seiko’s answers were incorrect, making her appear like a fraudulent medium.
After the show, Seiko took a taxi home and encountered a possessed Okarun outside the Ayase residence. Before Okarun could harm Momo, Seiko intervened, threatening to eliminate the curse and Okarun if necessary.
Momo later woke up in her room and questioned Seiko about Okarun’s condition. Still suspicious of Momo’s relationship with him, Seiko refused to provide details, holding onto a small grudge against her.
Eventually, Seiko instructed Momo to visit the main shrine. Momo learned that Okarun was safe there and updated Seiko about the situation. Momo also revealed that she could use psychic powers.
Seiko then explained Turbo Granny’s origins, describing how location-bound spirits are strongest within their territories and speculating that Turbo Granny had fused with the spirit of her tunnel.
She then advised Momo to abandon Okarun and avoid further involvement with Turbo Granny, but Momo refused. Seiko suggested playing tag with Turbo Granny, emphasizing her speed and instructed Momo to lead her away from the city without being caught.
While discussing her barriers, Seiko mentioned that they could only hold Turbo Granny temporarily and that it wouldn’t be enough to defeat her. She added that Momo must rely on Okarun’s speed in his Turbo Granny form, though Okarun doubted his own abilities.
As time passed, Momo struggled to hold off the curse affecting Okarun, who was distracted by his urgent need to use the bathroom. During this, Momo explained how she kept the curse at bay, and Seiko urged her to use her senses to make the task easier.
It was also revealed that the celebrity Seiko assessed at the start of the episode was lying about his life, proving she was a real spirit medium. Okarun interrupted, desperate for the bathroom, and eventually relieved himself while Momo awkwardly looked away.
Seiko and Momo discussed Momo’s powers further, with Seiko speculating that Momo’s abilities had been sealed. Before they could continue, Turbo Granny appeared in the bathroom.
She was unconscious as Turbo Granny threatened Momo, saying she could curse anyone to death as long as Okarun saw them. Turbo Granny then challenged Momo to face her at the tunnel, threatening to curse everyone nearby if she refused.
After Turbo Granny left, Seiko and Okarun snapped out of their daze. Seiko later held a small ceremony, providing Momo and Okarun special clothes to protect them from evil spirits.
Before they departed, Seiko urged Momo not to die, and Momo promised to return alive. The episode ended with the main characters preparing to confront Turbo Granny.
