What is Hashira Training in Demon Slayer? Season 4 Episode 3 and chapter 132 recap
Episode 3 started with the events of chapter 132 of the manga, diving into the Hashira training arc. This episode introduced the rigorous training methods used by the elite swordsmen.
The episode began with the former Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui leading the recruits’ training. All the other Pillars, including Serpent Hashira Obanai Iguro, Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, and Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito, have their own unique challenges for Tanjiro and the rest of the recruits.
Each Hashira brought a unique training style, pushing the young slayers to refine their skills and unlock their hidden potential.
In chapter 132, after Tanjiro observed the intense sessions, a battered and distraught Zenitsu Agatsuma, stumbled into view, revealing the grueling nature of the Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa’s approach.
Unlike the other Hashira, Sanemi’s training involved relentless, nonstop combat, leaving the recruits physically and mentally drained.
After the brutal session, Genya, Sanemi’s younger brother, attempted to reconcile their strained relationship. However, Sanemi remained cold and dismissive, escalating the tension. This fragile peace shattered when Sanemi discovered the source of Genya’s newfound power, triggering his rage.
Just as tensions reached a boiling point, Tanjiro intervened to prevent a fight between the brothers. With the immediate crisis averted, a new challenge awaited: the Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima had yet to reveal his training course.
However, episode 3 of the anime included new scenes not found in the original manga. The episode prominently featured a demon infiltrating the training camp and attacking two demon slayers, along with a more detailed look at the Hashira Training sessions.
