Demon Slayer season 4 episode 6 recap

Episode 6, titled “The Strongest in The Demon Slayer Corps,” began with Tanjiro Kamado and Zenitsu Agatsuma being greeted by the Stone Hashira, Gyomei Himejima, at his mountain training grounds.
Himejima explained that to complete his Hashira course, they must endure a cold plunge by standing under a waterfall, lifting three giant logs tied together, and finally, pushing a huge boulder one cho, the equivalent of 358 feet.

On their first day of training in the mountains, Tanjiro saw their travel companion, Inosuke Hashibira, undergoing the first test in Himejima’s Pillar training.
Realizing that Himejima’s seemingly simple tasks were incredibly physically demanding, Tanjiro and his group recovered, with the rest of the demon hunters undergoing the Stone Pillar’s course. Inosuke shared his belief that Himejima is undoubtedly the strongest in the Demon Slayer Corps.

Tanjiro completed the first two tests without much trouble but struggled with the final challenge. In his first attempt, he broke his sandals and decided to return to camp.
He met some of his fellow demon hunters who had decided to quit the Hashira training and join the Demon Slayer Corps’ support team, focusing on sustaining and supporting the stronger demon hunters like Tanjiro in the upcoming war against Muzan Kibutsuji.

After failing to move the boulder even an inch, Genya Shinazugawa joined Tanjiro to offer some advice. Genya explained that repetitive motion is the technique Tanjiro needs to master to move the boulder. To enhance concentration to the maximum, one must perform a predetermined action. In Genya’s case, he chants the nembutsu.
Tanjiro also explained that when Himejima and Genya use repetitive motions, they relive traumatic experiences from their lives, increasing their heart rate and body temperature.

After picturing his family and remembering the final words of the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, Tanjiro achieved his repetitive motion technique and activated his demon slayer mark.
While Tanjiro and the rest of the demon hunters are hard at training, Muzan and his newly appointed Upper Demon Four are getting closer to uncovering the whereabouts of Nezuko Kamado and Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps.
How is Demon Slayer season 4 episode 6 different from the manga?

Episode 6 is based on the events in chapters 135 and 136, which were adapted to the anime like those in Koyoharu Gotouge’s original manga.
The only difference is that the anime included more details than the manga, specifically Tanjiro’s interactions with the other demon hunters. These scenes provided more depth to the series’ side characters and highlighted how the Demon Slayer Corps looks out for one another.
