Dragon Ball Daima episode 2 is on the horizon, and the stakes are already incredibly high.
Following Daima’s premier episode, Goku and his allies face a mysterious new threat that could change their future forever.
As dark forces from the Demon Realm continue to carry out their sinister plan, the fate of Universe 7 hangs in the balance. Fans are wondering how Son Goku and his friends will respond to these unexpected challenges.
Daima was the last project overseen by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama before his passing, so the anticipation for what will happen next is even greater.
Dragon Ball Daima episode 1 recap
The episode began with Demon Realm King Gomah and his subordinate, Degesu, reviewing the events of the Majin Buu arc. The two were astonished by how powerful Goku and his friends had become.
Degesu then came to a crucial realization–now that Universe 7’s heroes had defeated all of their enemies, King Gomah, by default, had become the new Supreme King of the Demon Realm.
King Gomah wanted to use the three special Dragon Balls from the Demon Realm, but they were protected by powerful beings known as Tamagami, who were too strong for him to handle.
As such, King Gomah devised a new plan to target Earth’s Dragon Balls instead, as they were easier to obtain, and offered three wishes.
Since Earth’s Dragon Balls couldn’t grant wishes that directly harm others, King Gomah came up with the idea to wish for Goku and his allies to become younger, believing that if they were turned into children, they would no longer pose a threat.
For their second wish, King Gomah aimed to recover the Evil Third Eye, a legendary artifact known as the Tertian Oculus. This ancient eye lost during the reign of Dabura’s father, Supreme Demon King Abura, was said to grant absolute power to whoever placed it on their forehead.
Meanwhile, Degesu’s sister, Dr. Arinsu, overheard King Gomah’s plan and approached him, requesting continued funding for her research. However, King Gomah’s priorities were not focused on furthering her agenda, as his attention was fixed on his ambitions.
In addition, a third mysterious figure was seen eavesdropping on King Gomah and Degesu’s evil plans.
King Gomah, Degesu, and Neva, a Namekian ally, then traveled off-world to visit a young Namekian. Back in Universe 7, Goku and his friends were celebrating Trunk’s birthday. At the same time as the festivities, King Gomah, Degesu, and Neva arrived at Master Popo’s sanctuary, the Lookout, to confront Dende, who also had ties to the Demon Realm.
King Gomah struck a deal with Neva. In exchange for extending Neva’s life by 1,000 years, Neva was tasked with gathering all of Earth’s Dragon Balls.
It was revealed that Neva had created the Demon Realm’s Dragon Balls and the powerful Tamagami that guarded them, which is why he could also bring together Earth’s Dragon Balls.
Dende tried to stop King Gomah but was overpowered by Degesu. Once Shenron was summoned, King Gomah made his wish–that all those who had defeated Majin Buu would be turned into children–specifically, first graders. And those who were already children, like Trunks and Gohan, would be turned into babies.
The episode concluded with Goku and his friends going through with the transformation.
