The Gundam Next Future Pavilion will premiere an exclusive cinematic experience for Gundam Next Universal Century crafted specifically for this event.
It was meticulously designed to spark contemplation about the future and forge global connections through the iconic Gundam universe.
The pavilion promises a deep dive into a captivating new Gundam story, supported by striking main visuals, a stellar voice cast, and a dedicated production team.
On top of this, a limited-time The Gundam Base will set up shop within the Daimaru Umeda department store, commencing operations on April 11, 2025 (Friday). This pop-up haven will offer exclusive Gundam merchandise.
What the Gundam Next Universal Century movie is all about
In the year 2150, your visit to Yumeshima leads you to an observation excursion of the colossal orbital station, Star Jaburo.
Accompanied by Haro as your navigator, you ascend into an orbital elevator, initiating a trek towards an elevation of 36,000 km.
Upon reaching Star Jaburo, which encompasses the Earth in geostationary orbit, you witness numerous mechas endeavoring to further humanity’s foray into the cosmos. Subsequently, an unexpected event unfolds.

Immense screens, reaching a staggering 18 meters by 8 meters, will dominate your field of vision, while beneath your feet, Sony’s Haptics-powered floor will translate the on-screen action into delicate, nuanced sensations.
This fusion of cutting-edge technology creates a 360-degree immersive experience. The pavilion will showcase a new, visually stunning video, rendered in the hyper-realistic detail of Unreal Engine 5, that will transport you into a world where humans and Mobile Suits coexist.
Embark on a staged journey through the Gundam New Universal Century in seven distinct phases. From the Yumeshima Space Port in Osaka, you’ll ascend via orbital elevator to the “Star Jaburo” station. Witness a future where humanity and Mobile Suits are intertwined, featuring unique designs. There’s even a towering, life-sized Gundam statue standing guard outside!

The Gundam Base pop-up world tour in Osaka
A diverse array of Gundam merchandise will be available, spanning figures, trading cards, and unique collectibles, with a spotlight on the iconic Gunpla plastic model kits.
What’s more, in a move towards a more sustainable future, Bandai Spirits, a division of Bandai Namco Holdings Inc., will introduce a plastic model utilizing chemically recycled resin. This initiative underscores their commitment to developing eco-conscious materials and fostering responsible manufacturing.
