Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 269 marks the beginning of the end for this beloved series as we transition from the intense battles to the aftermath of the epic confrontation with Ryomen Sukuna.
With only three chapters left before the manga concludes on September 30, 2024, readers are on the brink of discovering the fates of the key characters who have endured so much.
In the previous chapter, Sukuna’s grip on Megumi weakened after a decisive blow from Yuji, signaling the end of their fierce struggle.
As the dust settles, chapter 269 will explore the emotional and physical toll of this traumatic ordeal, offering insights into how the surviving characters will move forward in a world forever changed by the battles they’ve fought.
Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 268 recap
Chapter 268 opened with Sukuna speaking to Megumi, urging the young sorcerer to abandon hope. He taunted Megumi, reminding him that he no longer had control over his body, that he had failed to protect his sister, and that he had been complicit in the deaths of many others.
Megumi, however, responded by questioning Sukuna’s desperation to survive. He pointed out that of the 20 cursed object fingers tied to Sukuna, only one remained, and it wouldn’t possess enough power to sustain his soul.
Their conversation abruptly ended as the scene shifted to the aftermath of Yuji’s Black Flash punch, which had struck Sukuna directly. The blow expelled Sukuna from Megumi’s body, reducing the King of Curses to a small, blob-like form.
Yuji stood over Sukuna’s remains and remarked that they were alike, both born under the burden of a curse. He reflected that the only reason he hadn’t turned out like Sukuna was that his grandfather had properly raised him.
Yuji once again offered Sukuna the chance to continue living with him, but Sukuna felt insulted by the offer.
Meanwhile, Sukuna’s ally, Uraume, who had been battling Kinji Hakari, acknowledged their defeat, sensing that Sukuna had lost. Uraume commented to Kinji that he was fortunate to have been born a thousand years later, which Kinji took as a compliment, as he prided himself on his luck.
The chapter continued with Megumi regaining consciousness as Yuji and Nobara Kugisaki planned to surprise him with the same trick Yuji had used when he revealed himself to be alive before the Kyoto Goodwill Event, where Tokyo High and Kyoto High competed to exorcise curses.
The trio then gathered to read their teacher, Satoru Gojo’s farewell letters to Nobara and Megumi.
Nobara’s letter contained information about her mother’s whereabouts, which she found uninteresting. Megumi’s letter revealed Gojo’s confession about killing his father, Toji Fushiguro, an event that took place during the Hidden Inventory arc.
The chapter concluded with the trio reuniting with the survivors of the Shinjuku Showdown arc: Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, Panda, Atsuya Kusakabe, Kasumi Miwa, and Momo Nishimiya.
