The villains are taking over
The finale begins with the sorcerer who took over Suguru Geto’s body arguing with special grade sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo over the future of all curse users.
The curse user who took over Suguru, who has been body-snatching powerful sorcerers in the past, declared that he wanted to create a new world by unleashing chaos. He then used Mahito’s unique cursed technique to put his plans into motion.

Over the years, the curse user inhabiting Suguru’s body has targeted numerous individuals, including Tsumiki, the sister of Megumi Fushiguro. Tsumiki has been in a coma for years due to an unknown curse.
After using a long-range activation of Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration, Suguru released the Cursed Seal on the 1,000 non-sorcerers.
These individuals were infused with Cursed Objects like Yuji Itadori, while some were Curse Technique users who had their sorcery skills awakened.
To make them understand Cursed Energy better, Suguru will have all sorcerers battle each other. Like any other supervillain, Suguru shared his dastardly plans and escaped with the prison realm-bound Satoru Gojo.

As he exited, Suguru shared his excitement as his actions would bring back the Heian Era.
The Heian Era took place a thousand years ago and is considered the Golden Age of Jujutsu, where Japan had numerous powerful sorcerers. This period was also where Sukuna reigned supreme and was at the height of his powers.
Post Shibuya Incident
Immediately after the events in Shibuya, Tokyo was in a state of calamity. As the days went on, the destruction of Shibuya extended to different districts, with multiple cursed spirits roaming freely. With Tokyo falling into chaos, special grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu finally returned to Japan.
If you missed the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, Yuta was a new student at Tokyo Jujutsu High who joined Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda’s class. Yuta gained control of an extremely powerful cursed spirit after a tragic accident. At the end of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Satoru told Yuta to leave Japan to learn more about cursed techniques.
In Yuta’s return to Japan, he immediately jumped into action and fought against the cursed spirits attacking innocent civilians.
The Jujutsu Headquarters council summoned Yuta, and he ordered him to kill Yuji after the council members reinstated the execution order following the Shibuya Incident. Yuta accepted the role of Yuji’s executioner because he blames Yuji for Toge’s major injury in Shibuya.
Viewers didn’t see it take place in season 2, but when Sukuna took over Yuji’s body, he attacked and cut off Inumaki’s arm in Shibuya. Fueled by his quest for revenge, Yuta went one step further and told the council they could create a binding vow with their execution request.
A binding vow is a powerful technique that cannot be canceled or altered.
Jujutsu Headquarters also implemented the following notice after the Shibuya Incident:
- Suguru Geto is alive, and the death penalty is reinstated.
- Satoru Gojo is branded a co-conspirator and exiled from the realm of sorcery. Unsealing him from the prison realm would be considered a criminal act.
- Tokyo Jujutsu High principal Masamichi Yaga is sentenced to death for inciting Suguru and Saturo in Shibuya.
- The suspended execution of Yuji Itadori is lifted, and Yuta Okkotsu is appointed as the executioner.
