Jujutsu Kaisen manga nears end
So, when Mangaka Akutami revealed that it was nearing an end last year, players started gearing up for a heartbreak.
Jujutsu Kaisens last chapter release date has now been confirmed during a live stream of Weekly Shonen Jump news on August 19.
The manga will reach its final chapter in issue 44 of Weekly Shonen Jump on Monday, September 30. This means it has five more chapters to offer, culminating Yuji Itadori’s story in episode 271.
This news was later confirmed on the official Jujutsu Kaisen X handle, locking in the final chapter at the end of the Shibuya Showdown arc. While fans had almost a year to prepare for the ending, the confirmation was still bittersweet.
What to expect from Jujutsu Kaisens last arc?
Shinjuku Showdown is the Jujutsu Kaisen’s last arc, set to end in September. The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is currently depicting the final battle between Yuji and a weakened Sukuna.
Yuji is determined to save his friend Megumi and has a plan to defeat Sukuna, who has already faced several other characters in battle. Despite being weakened, Sukuna refuses to surrender.
The fight will conclude in Chapter 267, set to be released on August 25, 2024. However, this marks only the end of the Shinjuku fight, not the entire manga
The climax for Jujutsu Kaisen has been building up in the last few chapters, focusing on the battle between Yuji Itadori and the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. This plot has been brimming for a long time and is likely to serve as the series’ climax.
With the battle between the two already ongoing, the upcoming chapter 267 is anticipated to bring it to a close, hinting that the subsequent four chapters will likely address the lingering unanswered questions in the series, including what happens to Yuta.
Fans have high expectations for the final chapter, and the Mangaka is well aware. In a message acknowledging Jujutsu Kaisen’s last chapter announcement, Akutami promised that he’s working hard to create a satisfactory ending that would provide closure to those betting on Yuji.
