The chapter opened with Kaiju no 9 recalling his past. When he was younger, he saw himself as nothing more than a weak monster who hid from humans, simply wanting to live a quiet life.

However, it took Kaiju no 9 a little while to realize his true strength. As he grew more aware of his power, he became fascinated with humanity.

Meanwhile, Reno Ichikawa and Iharu Furusashi suddenly noticed that all the monsters had stopped moving, leading them to assume that Hibino had finally defeated Kaiju no 9.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Kaiju no 9 impaled Hibino, who was in his Kaiju no 8 form. According to the Defense Force’s command center, Kaiju no 8’s core had been destroyed, and they were now detecting a new monster signature emanating from Kaiju no 9.

The Defense Force couldn’t estimate the resilience level of this new version of Kaiju no 9, but they were certain it was a completely different beast. Kaiju no 9’s face opened up, unleashing a mysterious attack that severed Hibino’s left arm.

A second attack blasted Hibino away, and the command center reported that they had lost all vital signs from Kaiju no 8. Enraged, Mina Ashiro requested more ammunition to obliterate the new monster, but in the blink of an eye, her special anti-Kaiju cannon, the T-25101985, was sliced in half.

The chapter ended with the new form of Kaiju no 9 poised to eliminate Mina.
