In Kaiju no 8 episode 11, the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force faces a major decision after discovering that their newest recruit, Kafka Hibino, is actually monster number eight.

The Third Division barely survived their encounter with Kaiju no 10 and the wyvern-like creatures, all thanks to Hibino’s unexpected heroism. But deciding to save his comrades may have just cost him his future with the Defense Force.

Kafka Hibino’s secret is out — Kaiju no 8 episode 10 recap

Episode 10, aptly titled Secret Revealed, began with the red Kaiju unveiling his monstrous form, boasting a fortitude level 9.0.

Vice-captain Hoshina bravely continued the fight against the giant beast despite being outsized. Hoshina unleashed consecutive attacks but reached the 10-minute limit to maintain his combat power at maximum capacity. His combat suit overheated, reducing his combat power to below 92 percent.

Vulnerable and exhausted, Hoshina took a heavy blow from Kaiju no 10. This triggered a flashback revealing his struggle to find his place in the Defense Force, where advanced weaponry overshadowed his swordsmanship.

However, Third Division captain Mina Ashiro recognized Hoshina’s unique skillset for battling smaller Kaiju, an area where she saw their team lacking. With Ashiro’s trust, Hoshina found renewed purpose in fighting alongside her.

Just as Kaiju no 10 prepared to finish Hoshina, Ashiro intervened with a series of critical blows. Together with the Third Division, including Kikoru Shinomiya and the platoon leaders, they finally managed to destroy the monstrous Kaiju.

But the victory was short-lived. In a final act of desperation, Kaiju no 10 ordered the surrounding flying creatures to gather and self-destruct, creating a massive explosion with the power of a nuclear bomb aimed directly at the Third Division.

Without hesitation, Kafka Hibino transformed into Kaiju no 8 and punched the self-destructing Kaiju bomb away, saving his comrades.

This selfless act, however, came at a devastating cost. Hibino’s secret was exposed. Ashiro and the Third Division, forced to consider him a threat, took him into custody.
