Bleach TYBW part 3 episode 6 recap
The episode began with Kisuke Urahara handing out Spirit Orbs to everyone. He instructed them to channel their Spiritual Pressure into the Orbs to power up a gate. However, Kisuke quickly realized that their combined Spiritual Pressure was insufficient to fully activate the gate, leaving them in a difficult position.
As they struggled, a powerful wave of energy emanated from Yhwach, the Quincy King, drawing in debris from the Seireitei. Observing this strange phenomenon, Kisuke and the other Soul Reapers were left baffled, uncertain about what the Quincies were planning.
The scene shifted to the Royal Palace, where Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez arrived through the Garganta and immediately confronted Ichigo Kurosaki. Just as Grimmjow was about to attack, Neliel Tu Odelschwanck, in her adult form, interrupted by bumping into both him and Ichigo. Nel explained to Ichigo that Urahara had created a device allowing her to switch between her child and adult forms.
However, their argument was cut short by Riruka Dokugamine and Yukio Hans Vorarlberna, who appeared through a black box in the Garganta. Yoruichi explained to Ichigo that she and Urahara had sought out Riruka and Yukio to develop a unique method of transportation, allowing them to enter the Soul King’s Palace undetected.
Yoruichi further elaborated that outside the Dangai (the space between the Soul Society and the World of the Living), there were various regions known as the Valley of Screams. These empty spaces in the Garganta were unstable and required travelers to release Spiritual Pressure to maintain a foothold constantly.
Using Riruka’s Fullbring ability, Urahara had condensed a small portion of the Valley of Screams into a portable box. Then, Yukio used his dimension-altering powers to convert it into a room with rails, effectively creating a mobile base they could use to move closer to their target. Additionally, Yoruichi placed stakes within the Soul King’s Palace to serve as markers for a precise ambush on Yhwach.
Back in the Seireitei, the gate they were constructing began to fade. Nanao Ise realized that the gate wouldn’t hold without adequate Spiritual Pressure. She regretted the absence of former 13th Division captain Jushiro Ukitake, who would have been ideal for stabilizing the gate.
At that moment, Lisa Yadomaru, Hiyori Sarugaki, and other Vizards arrived, pouring their Spiritual Pressure into the Spirit Orbs to reinforce the gate. Eventually, 12th Division captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi amplified the power, hastening the gate’s construction.
The perspective returned to Yoruichi, who told Ichigo of her plan to ambush the Quincies and urged him to unleash his most powerful Getsuga Tensho as soon as they engaged the enemy. She reassured Ichigo that she and the others would clear his path, ensuring no one would stand in his way.
Ichigo then asked Grimmjow why he had chosen to help them. Grimmjow responded that he wouldn’t let Yhwach destroy Hueco Mundo, as he would lose his chance to fight Ichigo there.
Yhwach’s appearance grew even more fearsome in the Soul King’s Palace after he absorbed the Soul King. His ominous transformation terrified Askin Nakk Le Vaar and the other Royal Guards, who were shocked at his monstrous new form.
Jugram Haschwalth assured Askin that there was no need to worry. Yhwach, now overflowing with power, destroyed the Soul King’s Palace, scattering debris as he demonstrated his intent to reshape it into his kingdom.
Meanwhile, Yukio, choosing not to participate in the battle, declared his desire to stay out of the conflict despite Ganju Shiba’s efforts to convince him otherwise. Ichigo agreed, cautioning Riruka to avoid the fight.
Ichigo and his allies then prepared to enter the Soul King’s Palace. At the same time, the remaining members of the Gotei 13, led by Captain Commander Shunsui Kyoraku, said their goodbyes to the injured Soul Reapers and entered the Reishi gate. When they arrived, they were surprised by the sight that greeted them.
The Royal Palace no longer resembled its former self and had instead been transformed into a Quincy town. The Soul Reapers, including Kisuke Urahara, were visibly confused. By locating the stake she had planted earlier, Yoruichi confirmed that this was indeed the Soul King’s Palace.
Shunsui deduced that the town, once part of the Seireitei, had been reconstructed atop the ruins of the Royal Palace. This indicated the Quincies’ immense power. At the same time, Yoruichi sensed the Spiritual Pressure of her younger brother, Yushiro Shihoin, who had become the head of the Shihōin clan after her banishment.
Ichigo, curious, inquired about Yushiro’s identity, and Yoruichi briefly explained his role and importance. Yushiro, sensing Yoruichi’s presence, leapt from his position but found no foothold, realizing that the Quincies had seized complete control over the town’s Reishi. Typically, dense Reishi in the area would allow Soul Reapers to create footholds, but the Quincies had deprived them of this advantage here.
Meanwhile, Soifon observed that she could no longer sense the Soul King’s Spiritual Pressure and wondered if he had been killed. Shunsui, on the other hand, confirmed he could sense Ichigo’s Spiritual Pressure, though it was faint.
Shunsui relieved that their advance troops were still intact, told his soldiers that if the Soul King had truly perished, they must eliminate the Quincy threat and select a new Soul King.
As he strategized, a massive new structure appeared in the heart of the Quincy-occupied town. Shunsui predicted that this was the enemy’s base. The episode then shifted to Yhwach, who sat on a newly constructed throne and learned of the arrival of the Gotei 13 and Ichigo’s group.
With his Schutzstaffel, including Uryu Ishida and Jugram, bowing before him, Yhwach declared that his castle would be the foundation of a new world he envisioned, to be called Wahrwelt. The episode concluded with Jugram vowing to annihilate every enemy to realize the future reflected in Quincy King’s eyes.
