Chapter 424 promises to be a pivotal turning point. Could it mark the conclusion of Kohei Horikoshi’s critically acclaimed My Hero Academia saga, or will it usher in a new era for heroes and villains alike?
How did Midoriya defeat Shigaraki Tomura? — My Hero Academia chapter 423 recap
Chapter 423, titled “One for All versus All for One,” delivered an epic showdown. Fueled by the support of his Class 1-A comrades and wielding the combined power of all nine previous One for All users, Deku pushed his limits to the brink.
Deku’s relentless assault brought Shigaraki, now a mere vessel for All for One, to the verge of collapse.
Desperate to survive, All for One sought to possess another host and continue his twisted dream of world domination through a quirk transfer. However, the tide turned with a crucial assist from the reformed nomu, Kurogiri (formerly Oboro Shirakumo).
He teleported a heavily injured Katsuki Bakugo, who delivered a decisive blow that weakened All for One significantly.
With the last vestiges of his power fading, Deku managed to land the final strike, vanquishing the remnants of All for One. Though severely weakened, Deku had secured victory for the heroes.
In a twist, Shigaraki, regaining control of his crumbling body in the aftermath, shared a final conversation with Deku. Consumed by a desire to be remembered as a destroyer, he was forced to confront the reality of his failure — he hadn’t destroyed anything.
