Hajime Isayama’s global phenomenon, Attack on Titan, is returning to the big screen.
The wait is over for fans as the Attack on Titan movie release date has been confirmed.
Titled Attack on Titan The Last Attack, the series’ epic conclusion will soon hit Japanese theaters.
Announced at Attack Fes, the series’ 10th-anniversary celebration, the film will retell the finale, with Studio MAPPA leading the production.
What is Attack on Titan?
Attack on Titan, the globally acclaimed manga and anime series created by Hajime Isayama, was serialized in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine from September 9, 2009, until its conclusion on April 9, 2021.
The anime adaptation, produced by Wit Studio for seasons 1 to 3 and by MAPPA for season 4, aired from April 7, 2013, to November 5, 2023.
Attack on Titan is a dark fantasy series set in a world where humanity lives within three colossal walls to protect themselves from giant, man-eating humanoids called Titans.
The story follows Eren Yeager, a young boy who vows to exterminate the Titans after they destroy his hometown and kill his mother.
The series explores themes of survival, loss, and the complexities of human nature as the characters fight for their existence against a seemingly insurmountable threat.
What is Attack on Titan The Last Attack?
The Attack on Titan movie is a compilation of the final episodes of the anime’s fourth season. In it, the Survey Corps races against time to stop Eren Jaeger, who has triggered the Rumbling.
This catastrophic event threatens to destroy the entire world except for Paradis Island. The movie will be 145 minutes long and include improved visuals.
At Attack Fes, Attack on Titan director Yuichiro Hayashi shared that he originally intended the series’ final episodes to be a feature-length film, making The Last Attack the way he envisioned the series finale to be experienced.
