If you’re still not convinced about the authenticity of the One Piece live action cast, this photo might make you think differently.
In a remarkable nod to the anime, the actors who play the Straw Hat Pirates have recreated a cover from Eiichiro Oda’s popular manga series.
Netflix’s One Piece live action cast recreated this East Blue manga cover to perfection
Inaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Emily Rudd (Nami), Mackenyu Arata (Roronoa Zoro), Jacob Gibson (Usopp), and Taz Skylar (Sanji), all exuded charm and style in a captivating snapshot shared by Netflix.
All five faithfully remade the cover art of One Piece volume 11, titled “The Meanest Man in the East,” initially released in 1999 in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue 24.
Through their poses, attire, and facial expressions, the cast of the One Piece live-action series brought their individual characters to life in their recreation of the manga cover.
The reference for the photo, One Piece Volume 11, titled “The Meanest Man in the East,” is centered around the Straw Hat Pirates’ visit to Loguetown, the last island before the Grand Line.
The crew faces challenges, encounters old foes like Buggy, and engages in a duel between Zoro and Tashigi. The volume highlights Luffy’s determination, sets the stage for the crew’s entry into the Grand Line, and showcases their individual strengths and camaraderie.
The One Piece live action series airs exclusively on Netflix and follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his diverse crew of pirates in search of the One Piece, the legendary treasure of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger.
