Chainsaw Man fans can count down the days to the Look Back release date.
Japanese anime production company Avex Pictures has announced that the acclaimed one-shot manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of CSM, is getting an anime movie adaptation for a theatrical release.
The news came with the release of a teaser trailer and the launch of an official website for the movie.
This adaptation promises to bring Fujimoto’s storytelling prowess and unique artistic vision to the big screen.
Chainsaw Man creator’s emotional one-shot manga Look Back is in development
Look Back is a coming-of-age story by Fujimoto that will be adapted into an animated movie by Studio Durian and directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama.
The film explores the lives of two girls, Fujino and Kyomoto, who share a love for manga despite their contrasting personalities.
Director Oshiyama, known for his work on Evangelion: Rebuild of Evangelion and The Wind Rises, uses his artistic prowess to depict the characters vividly.
Initially released in 2021, Fujimoto’s one-shot manga gained popularity and ranked highly among readers. As the movie adaptation nears its release, fans can anticipate a touching narrative about youth, friendship, and the impact of manga on young lives.
Look Back release date
Fans can mark their calendars for June 28, 2024, when Look Back is scheduled to hit Japanese theaters.
In addition, CSM fans have another reason to celebrate.
During Jump Festa 2024, MAPPA announced that the highly anticipated Reze arc movie is in the works. Although the release date is still listed as “coming soon,” eager fans anticipate its arrival later this year.
A second trailer for the movie was released on April 18, 2024, offering new glimpses into the emotional core of the story.
