Oshi no Ko chapter 166 arrives as the final chapter in the series, set to deliver an unforgettable conclusion to the journey of Aqua, Ruby, and those intertwined in their lives.
With the weight of heartbreak and mystery still lingering, the question looms–will this story end in tragedy, or could there be an unexpected twist, perhaps a miraculous return or a new reincarnation?
This last chapter holds the key to a resolution that may be as surprising as it is poignant. It brings closure to a tale marked by ambition, revenge, and redemption.
Oshi no Ko chapter 165 recap
The chapter opened with Akane reflecting on Aqua Hoshino’s death and explaining the aftermath. She revealed that after Aqua’s demise, Fuyuko Niino, a former B-Komachi member, had been investigated by the police.
This investigation uncovered illegal activities within her network, prompting the police to dig deeper. Their suspicions eventually pointed to Hikaru Kamiki, whom Akane described as a monster.
Although the police found no direct evidence against Hikaru, they suspected his involvement in multiple murders, making him a likely instigator.
Akane then shared her conflicted feelings, admitting she might have been used as a decoy in Aqua’s complex plans. She expressed a lingering wish that Aqua had left her a letter, even though she understood that personal communication would have raised suspicions with the police.
Still, Akane believed his message would have helped them understand their emotions. As she continued to narrate, scenes from Aqua’s funeral unfolded.
At the funeral, the emotional strain was especially hard on Kana. In a moment of grief and frustration, she approached Aqua’s body and slapped him, shouting her pent-up feelings. This action angered Miyako Saito, the president of Strawberry Productions, but Kana pressed on, venting her pain.
Kana accused Aqua of breaking his promises to her and called him a liar, lamenting that she had never gotten the chance to confess her love. Overwhelmed, Kana begged for Aqua to come back to life.
Akane explained that on the final day of their concert, Kana had constantly looked around, hoping to see Aqua in the crowd. Kana’s longing was symbolized by her search for Aqua’s white glow stick, which he had used to cheer on B-Komachi during previous performances.
Many of Aqua’s friends and colleagues paid their respects during the funeral, visibly shaken by the tragedy.
Meanwhile, Aqua’s mentor and director of The 15 Year Lie, Taishi Gotanda, appealed to the film committee, insisting that the movie should still be released despite Aqua’s death.
The committee, however, hesitated, worrying that releasing the film now could be seen as insensitive, given the connection to Aqua’s tragic end. Producer Masaya Kaburagi stepped in, vowing to take full responsibility for the release and pushing for the film to reach audiences.
Ultimately, the movie became a major hit, finishing as the sixth most-viewed film of the year. Akane then shifted her focus to Ruby, Aqua’s sister, describing her as perhaps the most affected by his death.
Since the incident, Ruby hasn’t left the house, unable to escape the feeling that everyone she loves is being taken away from her. Akane reflected that Ruby might never stand on stage again, but deep down, she suspected that Aqua knew how resilient those around him truly were.
