Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 5 recap
We picked up right where episode 4 left off and found Aqua Hoshino and Akane Kurkawa at Taishi Gotanda’s apartment. Gotanda showed Akane Aqua’s earlier acting performances, which revealed Aqua’s struggles with emotional expression because of his childhood trauma.
Akane then inquired about Aqua’s motivations for becoming an actor. Aqua subtly hinted at his ultimate goal: revenge against the person who caused his mother’s death.
Despite his ambiguous response, Akane agreed to help Aqua, and together, they began training under Gotanda’s guidance.
During a group rehearsal, Kana Arima made a surprising revelation. It turned out that Akane once idolized Kana as a child star and considered her an acting role model. However, time had shifted their perspectives.
Kana and Akane’s approaches to acting had evolved significantly, fueling their current rivalry and their determination to outshine each other on stage.
The episode concluded with Aqua confronting his past trauma and the inner voice it evoked just moments before the Tokyo Blade stage play commenced.
