The Tokyo Blade 2.5D stage play finally began, featuring Kana Arima as Tsurugi and Taiki Himekawa as Blade, the main protagonists.

Tokyo Blade was a popular action manga with over 50 million copies sold, which led to successful anime and movie adaptations. The story followed the classic “enemies become friends” trope, where rival factions initially fought before forming bonds.

After the introductions in phase 1 of the stage play were completed, the focus shifted to Melt Narushima, an Oni (demon) from the Shibuya faction.

Melt began his career as a model before becoming an actor. He starred in the Sweet Today show in season 1 of Oshi no Ko but was remembered as a subpar performer, with most of his peers considering him a weak actor.

Melt explained that life had always been easy for him, with everything falling into place with minimal effort. This ease applied to his relationships and the early part of his career. It wasn’t until he started working as an actor in Sweet Today alongside Kana and Aqua that he realized his shortcomings.

After disappointing the people who worked on Sweet Today with his poor performance, Melt was finally motivated to improve. He worked tirelessly on acting and even asked Aqua for advice on becoming a better actor.

Aqua advised him to focus on excelling in one aspect of his acting instead of improving in every area. He explained that since most people didn’t expect much from him, impressing them with just one strong performance would be enough to surprise everyone.

In his moment in the spotlight, Melt stole the show, even surprising seasoned actor Sakuya Kamoshida, who had questioned why Melt was cast in the stage play.

The episode concluded with Melt completing his redemption arc, shocking both Samejima and Yoriko Kichijoji, the creator of Sweet Today.
