In episode 2, Subaru goes into the Time Tower to confront Sirius. There, he encounters a trapped boy named Lusbell and attempts to rescue him. However, Subaru is overwhelmed by a wave of fear that paralyzes him, leaving him vulnerable to Sirius’ attacks.
With Reinhard’s aid, Subaru manages to break free from Sirius’s control and rescue Lusbell. Although they defeat Sirius, the victory is bittersweet as Reinhard’s final blow lead to the deaths of many, including Subaru himself.
Resurrected once more, Subaru seeks help from Beatrice, and Emilia also joins the fight against Sirius. However, Sirius uses a young girl named Tina as a shield, forcing Emilia to retreat.
Regulus Corneas, the Sin Archbishop of Greed, intervenes and saves Emilia.
