With every passing moment, threats creep closer, and the line between their ordinary routine and the chaos of their past grows thinner.
Can the Sakamoto family find a way to protect their peaceful life, or will the bounty on Taro’s head bring even more chaos?
Sakamoto Days episode 3 recap
The episode began with Shin Asakura and Lu Shaotang arguing while working in the Sakamoto Store. Lu had misplaced many items in the store, and her previous work experience as an ex-gang member left her unprepared for her new role.
As Shin suggested to Taro Sakamoto that Lu be fired, they noticed Taro behaving strangely. The usually stoic, retired hitman was suddenly overly expressive. It was revealed that the “Taro” in the store was Yoichi Nagumo, a high-level hitman and master impersonator. Nagumo had been imitating Taro.
Nagumo informed Shin and Lu that the Japanese Association of Assassins (JAA) had placed a bounty on Taro’s head. He also mentioned that another criminal organization, the Dondenkai, had already sent a hitman to kill Taro but failed.
Within the Dondenkai, members discussed Taro’s past as a member of The Order, a legendary group that some now believed to be a myth. They decided to organize another attempt on Taro’s life. Meanwhile, Shin expressed concern to Taro about the increasing number of hitmen targeting them.
The next day, the Sakamoto group went to the amusement park, where Shin and Lu took it upon themselves to ensure Taro’s family could enjoy the outing without interruptions.
While they easily stopped the initial assassination attempts, one hitman managed to exploit Shin’s psychic abilities.
By emptying his mind, the silver-haired hitman evaded Shin’s detection and got dangerously close to Taro. At the last moment, Shin and Lu realize the threat, but the hitman is already preparing to strike.
Shin intercepted the hitman to protect Taro but was poisoned in the process. To avoid alarming the crowd, Shin threw the hitman onto the stage of a mascot show featuring Sugar Bunny. Disguising himself in the bunny costume, Shin engaged the hitman in a fight.
Despite his impaired vision from the poison, Shin relied on instructions from Taro, whose mind he could read, to defeat the assassin and neutralize the threat.
