For more than a thousand years, nightmarish creatures known as Kaiju have plagued Japan. These colossal monsters possess overwhelming power, capable of destroying an entire city.

Kaiju are unique monsters in Kaiju no 8 who possess a variety of unique abilities including teleportation, super strength, shapeshifting, and flight. They all have a core, similar to a heart, called “Uni-Organ,” which grants them different abilities.
Fortunately, the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force (JAKDF) figured out the answer to beating these beasts with some anime science by developing a complex combat suit. Created by Isumo Tech, the Defense Force members use these suits to evaluate the threat and eradicate Kaiju.
The Fortitude System is a method used by the JAKDF to measure and classify the threat level of Kaiju based on their overall power. This system helps determine the appropriate response by assigning classifications to Kaiju, ensuring that the correct level of personnel is dispatched to handle the threat efficiently while minimizing danger.
In this article, we’ll look at the strongest Kaiju in Kaiju no 8 based on their Fortitude Level, destructive capabilities, and abilities.

1. Kaiju no 14
Kaiju no 14 is the strangest artificially made Kaiju created by Kaiju no 9. It’s a floating box with creepy-looking heads attached to it. Despite its appearance, it was an extremely powerful Daikaiju with a fortitude level of nine, capable of shooting energy beams and producing force fields.
It can create force fields that block all attacks, which is made to counter Mina Ashiro’s sniping skills. Moreover, it can destroy entire cities by shooting its energy attacks coming from the mouths of its heads.
One unique trait of Kaiju no 14 that makes it one of the strongest Kaiju in Kaiju no 8 is that it can teleport fairly far, making it almost impossible to snipe down. Despite its high fortitude level, it lacks combat intelligence; allowing Mina Ashiro to counterattack and thus defeat it.
2. Kaiju no 10 (Weaponized)
Kaiju no 10 is a prototype created by Kaiju no 9, and the sole purpose of its creation is to capture Vice-Captain Soshiro Hoshina. Right after Kafka’s first mission, Kaiju no 10 attacked the Division three base, resulting in a skirmish between the Vice-Captain and Kaiju no 10.
Hoshina stated that its hide is noticeably harder than Kaiju no 8; it is also capable enough to dodge his multiple slicing attacks, demonstrating his remarkable reflexes.
Its full power allows him to transform into a gigantic Kaiju, giving him a fortitude level of nine, overpowering Soshiro. Only to be defeated by Mina from a distance.
After his defeat, Kaiju no 10 was reduced to a head with its consciousness intact and was later weaponized into a numbered weapon with a long mechanical tail that Kaiju no 10 controls.
3. Kaiju no 13
No 13 was first spotted running at high speed in an expressway and was well known for its competitive nature. Unlike its siblings, it couldn’t speak and didn’t show interest in its surroundings.
Its competitiveness made it focus solely on defeating its enemies quickly during cataclysmic attacks. Despite the efforts of the first division platoon leaders who sent out an attack order, Kaiju no 13 gained the upper hand with no injuries, nearly killing platoon leader Tachibana.
It started with a fortitude level of four, which increased to nine point two when it powered up. This makes no 13 the Kaiju with the third highest fortitude level, known only behind no 6 and no 8. Despite its high fortitude level, Kaiju no 13’s only interest is defeating the JAKDF which led him to encounter Kaiju no 8 and instantly dying to its punch.
4. Kaiju no 15
Kaiju no 15 is the last Kaiju manufactured by Kaiju no 9. Its appearance resembles a human-like Kaiju created using General Isau’s past memories to closely resemble Kikoru.
Despite its childlike appearance, Kaiju no 15 was designed to battle Kikoru Shinomiya to exploit her insecurities. It was a cruel opponent, possessing superhuman strength, powerful energy beams, and the ability to manipulate minds.
Kaiju no 15’s shapeshifting abilities let her instantly transform into Kaiju and human form during battle. Not even Kaiju no 9 can do it without consuming human flesh first. The distinct difference between her two forms is that her Kaiju form is a ranged form, and the human form is the Melee form.
One weakness of Kaiju no 15 is that it also possesses the same insecurities as Kikoru since it was based on Isau’s memory, mirroring the same situation she had but as Kaiju no 9 as her father.
After being overpowered by Kaiju no 15, Kikoru overcomes her insecurities and defeats it with the help of her mother’s spirit residing in Kaiju no 4 suit and her resolve to prove herself as a worthy defense force officer.
5. Kaiju no 12
Kaiju no 12 is the perfect version of Kaiju no 10, as stated by Kaiju no 9. It was designed specifically to defeat Soshiro (again).
Kaiju no 12 is a calm version of Kaiju no 10, capable of launching its opponents with a strong shockwave from its slashes. Its slash destroyed an entire city block and even out-maneuvered Soshiro in the process.
No 12’s ability to mimic allows it to rapidly adapt to its opponent. Its ability to evolve and adjust mid-fight gave Vice-Captain Soshiro a hard time. Despite all the efforts of Kaiju no 12, Soshiro kept creating new techniques on the spot, which eventually exposed its core, allowing Kaiju no 10 to take over the suit’s tail and stab its core.
But honestly, Kaiju no 12 could’ve easily defeated Soshiro if it weren’t for the fact that Kaiju no 10 is also piloting Soshiro’s suit at the time of battle, letting him reach an unleashed combat power of 100%.
6. Kaiju No. 4 (Weaponized)
Kaiju no 4 possesses several sets of wings on its back, enabling it to achieve incredibly high speeds during flight. Its weaponized form is considered to be the fastest among all numbered weapons.
During its appearance in Japan, the Defense Force had a hard time subduing the Kaiju because of its rapid movement in the air.
The weapon form grants the user wings similar to Kaiju no 4’s that allow the user to effortlessly fly at speeds too quick for the human eye to track; even elite Defense Force soldiers struggled to keep track of them in battle.
In chapter 72, Kikoru Shinomiya demonstrated the power of Kaiju no 4 by crossing a vast distance almost instantly, breaking several sound barriers, and deleting a Kaiju in the blink of an eye.
7. Kaiju no 2 (Weaponized)
The infamous Kaiju no 2 caused a disaster in 1972, nearly destroying Sapporo, the largest city in Hokkaido’s prefecture. Keiji Itami described Kaiju no 2 as having a deep resolve that persisted until death.
After the JAKDF defeated it, the creature’s body was used to make a combat suit for General Isau Shinomia. The gauntlets focused on hand-to-hand combat, drawing power from the legs to strengthen punches.
The power of Kaiju no 2 made its weapons incredibly strong, suitable only for someone as skilled as the general. Kaiju no 2 could emit highly destructive energy, making it able to perform an incredible feat with its sonic boom, delivering a powerful force blast punch that sent Kaiju no 8 flying.
Its incredible power rivals that of Kaiju no 8 even in berserk mode, easily overpowering and injuring Kafka in the process.
8. Kaiju no 1 (Weaponized)
Primarily, no 1 holds the distinction of being Japan’s oldest numbered weapon. Kaiju no 1 was a massive Daikaiju with multiple eyes on its body capable of pseudo-foresight.
Its attacks are said to be inescapable. Its retinas allow it to see through other living things, which discerns the synaptic impulse of one’s body, enabling it to know in advance what an opponent is about to do.
It was killed by the defense force who eventually weaponized it for their own use. It is currently wielded by the most formidable member of the JAKDF, Captain Jen Narumi, who leads squad number One.
The suit gives Narumi the ability of foresight, which helps him overcome a Daikaiju with a fortitude level of nine later in the series.
9. Kaiju no 6 (Weaponized)
Also known as the King of Kaiju, Kaiju no 6 possesses a fortitude level of nine point six, the strongest before the arrival of no 8. This Kaiju is responsible for the great disaster that shook Japan years ago.
The catastrophic event was orchestrated by Kaiju no 6 alongside multiple Honjus, resulting in a major disaster, causing the deaths of 200 defense officers and three captains.
The attack triggered a snowstorm, solidifying Kaiju no 6’s reputation as a symbol of despair. Even after being converted into a weapon, Kaiju no 6 remained unmatched in power and was considered the most dangerous weapon in the JAKDF rsenal.
The weapon possessed ice-related abilities that could induce a blizzard on the battlefield. The wearer’s presence could be felt in battle as it emits cold energy created by the suit.
10. Kaiju no 8 (Kafka Hibino)
The most overpowered and strongest Kaiju in Kaiju no 8, literally, even the series is named after him. With a fortitude level of nine point eight, Kaiju no 8 is the only known Kaiju that possesses a symbiotic state with its user.
This gives Kafka the ability to transform into a humanoid kaiju, which gives him immense strength. Over time, our protagonist learned to control this power, allowing the user to transform specific body parts depending on the situation.
Kaiju no 8 overpowers other Kaiju, and even Kaiju no 9 is no match for his strength. However, Kaiju No. 8 only has one goal in mind, and that’s to kill Kaiju. After Kafka lost consciousness, Kaiju no 8 took over and was prepared to destroy everything in his path, only to be stopped by General Isau Shinomia.
11. Kaiju no 9
Kaiju no 9 has the sole purpose of becoming stronger until he can take all the Kaiju back in his possession. This Kaiju possesses shapeshifting abilities and super intellect, which is used to blend in with humans. Kaiju no 9 is also the mastermind behind the series of disasters that happened in Japan.
Kaiju no 9 has the ability to absorb creatures (even humans) and use its abilities and appearance. Kaiju no 9 also thinks inhuman as it plans the destruction of everyone. It can formulate individual plans to kill each notable person in the JAKDF, which makes it more terrifying.
Kaiju no 9 would become exponentially stronger later in the series by absorbing humans wearing a Kaiju weapon. Giving it new abilities and powerful attacks it didn’t previously have.
