Chainsaw Man chapter 177 recap

The Black Chainsaw Man meets its match: the War Fiend Yoru wielding the powers of her children, Gun and Tank.

Chapter 177 begins with a bloodied Chainsaw Man taking another shot from Right Hand Gauntlet, which launches him across a city block. While he’s stunned, Asa asks Yoru how she feels about turning two of her friends into living weapons, to which she casually replies that all children are their parents’ property.

Previously, Yoru explained that she wouldn’t turn her children into weapons because the ensuing destruction wouldn’t help rescue the Nuclear Weapons devil from Denji’s stomach. But a chainsaw to the neck can be very persuasive.

Afterwards, Yoru taunts the Black Chainsaw Devil, asking him if the pain reminded him of who War was, and loudly challenges him to fight for revenge. He turns and leaves without a word.

We then see a hilarious panel of Chainsaw Man landing next to a highschooler working for a local blood drive. The kid understandably flees in terror, but the Chainsaw Devil does something unprecedented.

Denji/Pochita grabs the “Give Blood” sign and enthusiastically waves it around, all while shouting what seems like nonsensical phrases in an attempt to attract blood donors.

The chapter then jumps to the U.S., where 400,000 members of the National Pistol Association of America lose all of their index fingers. We then learn that this is a sacrificial ritual by Yoru, who raises her right pointer finger in the air.

She pulls an invisible trigger, and a large crack appears on the Statue of Liberty’s face.
