What is Jujutsu Kaisen about?
Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series created by Gege Akutami. It began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Jump on March 5, 2018, and recently concluded with its final chapter, number 271, on September 30, 2024.
The anime adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen was produced by the animation studio MAPPA. The first season premiered on October 3, 2020, and concluded on March 27, 2021, with 24 episodes.
The story follows Yuji Itadori, a high school student who becomes entangled in the world of curses after consuming a powerful cursed object.
With the help of his friends and mentors at Jujutsu High Tokyo, Yuji navigates a dangerous world of curses and sorcery while trying to keep the malevolent King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna, at bay.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0, a prequel film, was released in Japanese theaters on December 24, 2021. It later arrived in U.S. and Canadian theaters on March 18, 2022.
The movie focuses on Yuta Okkotsu, a young sorcerer haunted by the curse of his childhood friend Rika. The film serves as an introduction to Yuta’s story and his training with his mentor, Satoru Gojo.
Jujutsu Kaisen returned with its second season on July 6, 2023, and it wrapped up on December 28, 2023, with 23 episodes. The second season covered significant arcs from the manga, including Gojo’s Past arc and the Shibuya Incident arc.
