Dual wielding or using Akimbo weapons makes a return in Modern Warfare 3 owing to its popularity in Modern Warfare 2, although it is limited to certain weapons.
In this ONE Esports guide, we explain everything you need to know about Akimbo weapons, including how to unlock them and use them effectively.
All you need to know about Akimbo weapons
Players who prefer fast-paced and close-quarter combat will find this attachment particularly enjoyable.
This allows you to wield a weapon, typically handguns, in each hand, effectively doubling your firepower and allowing you to mow down enemies in your way.
However, wielding a gun in each hand comes with drawbacks, including reduced weapon accuracy, and, most critically, the inability to aim down sights (ADS).
Consequently, you need to confront your targets at close range for effective elimination. Failing to do so will likely result in missed shots and significantly reduced damage per hit.
How to equip Akimbo weapons in Modern Warfare 3
To equip a weapon in each hand, navigate to the Gunsmith for your chosen secondary weapon, and select the Akimbo attachment from the rear grip or conversion kit slot.
After selecting the right attachment, you will enter your next game wielding two weapons of the same type instead of one.
While it’s possible to equip an optic on your weapons while dual wielding, we advise utilizing other attachment slots to compensate for the loss of ADS.

How to get Akimbo Kills in MW3
Considering all factors, securing Akimbo Kills is straightforward. Just equip the rear grip or conversion kit on any applicable weapon in any game and start eliminating players.

This allows you to maximize the lethal close-range damage and benefit from the increased frequency of gunfights.
