The Terminus math puzzle is a key step in progressing through the main Easter Egg quest on the map, unlocking exclusive rewards, including the powerful DR-11 Beamsmasher Wonder Weapon.

Step-by-step guide on how to solve Terminus math puzzle in BO6 Zombies
1. Unlock the Research Office
Your first objective is to gain entry into the Research Office, a crucial area that houses both the Beamsmasher crafting table and the computer with a numerical code you’ll need to decipher. This code is a vital piece of the puzzle required to unlock the next steps in obtaining the Beamsmasher.

2. Collect the EMF Fob and Multiphasic Resonator
Inside the Research Office, there’s a zombie trapped beneath the fallen cabinet to the right of the computer. Shoot it, and upon elimination, it will drop the EMF Fob.
With the EMF Fob in hand, make your way to the Sea Tower. Look for the briefcase with a severed hand on top of it, which is situated on the table directly across from the Elemental Pop Perk-a-Cola machine. Interact with the briefcase to open it, then retrieve the Multiphasic Resonator.
Be ready, as opening the briefcase causes a swarm of Vermin to spawn.
3. Activate the computer and find the laptop locations
After obtaining the Multiphasic Resonator, head back to the Research Office. Activate the computer to place the Resonator on top by holding the Interact button.
The Resonator requires three positional coordinates, which are encoded using a combination of mathematical equations and symbolic representations.
To decipher these values, examine the two whiteboards in the far-left corner of the Research Office. These whiteboards contain the equations and symbols that correspond to specific numerical values, crucial for solving the puzzle.
To proceed, you must find and activate three laptops scattered across the map, each marked with labels X, Y, and Z. These laptops display symbols that align with those on the whiteboards, helping you determine the values of X, Y, and Z needed to unlock the puzzle.
Here are the three laptop locations you’ll need to find:
- Docks: Positioned just before the staircase that descends to the Armory.
- Storage Area: Located on the right side as you exit the Interrogation room.
- Communications: Found right outside the entrance to the Control Center.
4. Determine the values of X, Y, Z
Once you’ve activated the three laptops, return to the Research Office and interact with the computer again. It will display three sticky notes, each showing a symbol corresponding to the laptops you previously activated. These symbols represent specific numerical values that are key to solving the math equations in the office.
To determine the values of X, Y, and Z, examine the whiteboard on the left. Match each symbol from the sticky notes with the corresponding symbol on the whiteboard. Combine the numbers aligned with the symbol on the left column and at the bottom.
Each laptop displays a unique symbol for every match, and here are the values we got for this example:
- X = 11
- Y = 0
- Z = 21
While the symbols and values of X, Y, and Z change for every match on Terminus, the math equations remain the same.
5. Solve the math equations
Now that you’ve determined the values of X, Y, and Z, it’s time to tackle the math equations on the whiteboard to the right. Simply substitute the values into the equations shown on the board to proceed.
Remember to follow the proper order of operations: always solve the expressions inside the parentheses first, then proceed with any addition or subtraction. For this specific example, here are the answers we calculated:
2X + 11 = 2(11) + 11 = 22 + 11 = 33
(2Z + Y) – 5 = (42 + 0) – 5 = 42 – 5 = 37
| (Y + Z) – X | = | (0 + 21) – 11 | = | 21 – 11 | = 10
If any of your calculations result in a negative number, simply convert it to a positive number. Once you’ve finalized the six-digit calibrator code, input it into the computer.
If solving equations isn’t your thing, there’s an alternative: head to the Guard Station near the spawn location and find Dr. Peck behind the window. For a bribe of 5,000 Essence, he’ll reveal the calibrator code on the computer monitor to the left.
Keep in mind, however, that 5,000 Essence is a significant amount, especially if you’re playing solo. You might want to save that for purchasing Perks or other essential resources for survival.
After entering the code, the computer will display moving coordinates on a map. Finish the current round, and the coordinates will stop moving, marking the next location for you to continue the Easter Egg quest.
