The Black Ops 6 Prestige system brings back the iconic progression feature that has long been a staple of the Call of Duty series.
This classic rank system returns with a fresh set of challenges, rewards, and the opportunity to earn serious bragging rights in the latest CoD title.
Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a newcomer, this comprehensive ONE Esports article is here to help you understand the Black Ops 6 Prestige system.
How does the Black Ops 6 Prestige system work?
In Black Ops 6, once you reach Level 55, you have the option to enter Prestige. Doing so will reset your level back to one and re-lock all level-based unlocks, which will need to be earned again.
Additionally, your custom loadouts will reset as well. Your stats, like your elimination/death ratio, reset to zero, giving you a fresh start. However, your lifetime career stats remain accessible and can be viewed anytime in under Combat Record in the Stats section of the Barracks tab.
Conversely, the following items will not be reset or re-locked when you enter Prestige:
- Weapon progression, camos, and reticles: Any progress you’ve made on weapon levels or unlockable cosmetics remains intact.
- Weapon builds: While the weapon itself may be re-locked, all custom builds you’ve created will still be available once you unlock the weapon again.
- Challenge progress and unlocks: All progress and completed challenges remain saved.
- Store and Battle Pass content: Items acquired from the Store or Battle Pass are unaffected by Prestige.
- Operator and Emote unlocks: Any unlocked Operators and Emotes remain accessible.
- Zombies GobbleGums: All unlocked GobbleGums stay available in Zombies mode.
Moreover, any items with blueprints or skins will be permanently unlocked through Prestige. For example, if you own a blueprint for the Jackal PDW SMG, it will remain unlocked when you Prestige, as will any skinned equipment, field upgrades, or scorestreaks.
Black Ops 6 Prestige levels
Black Ops 6 introduces a comprehensive system with 10 distinct Prestige levels, each offering a range of valuable rewards that help you flaunt your in-game achievements.
Once you achieve Prestige 10, you’ll unlock the Prestige Master rank, which introduces an extra 1,000 levels for you to conquer.
Players who reach the highest tier will be rewarded with an exclusive, classified reward, reserved for those who demonstrate exceptional dedication and skill.
The entire Prestige system is available on launch, allowing players to progress at their own pace without being restricted by seasonal level caps. This means you can fully immerse yourself in the game and achieve all your Prestige goals without any interruptions.
Black Ops 6 Prestige rewards overview
Each time you Prestige, you’ll earn exclusive rewards such as emblems, calling cards, and unique weapon blueprints. The more times you Prestige, the more coveted content you can access.
Most importantly, you gain a Permanent Unlock—a powerful advantage that can be used only once per Prestige. Using it, you can choose any single item from the Player Level progression to unlock permanently.
For example, if you don’t want to wait until you reach Level 55 again to unlock the AS VAL assault rifle, you can use a Permanent Unlock to gain instant access to it.
You earn one Permanent Unlock per Prestige, up to Prestige 10. Upon reaching Prestige Master, all level unlocks become permanently accessible, making additional Permanent Unlocks unnecessary.
