The Call of Duty games are known for their large file sizes, and the forthcoming Black Ops 6 will be no different. Slated to release on October 25, 2024, Black Ops 6 is the upcoming first-person shooter game by Activision which will be the twenty-first installment of the Call of Duty series.
As anticipation reached a fever pitch, Activision released official statements for the game’s download size. With that said, here’s everything we know so far about Black Ops 6 file size.
What is Call of Duty Black Ops 6 download size?
Unfortunately, the exact download size of the new Call of Duty is unknown at the moment. Given that its predecessor, Black Ops 5, was approximately 130 GB, we anticipate that six will be around 150 GB.
As per the leaks and teasers revealed so far, Black Ops 6 is going to be packed with a variety of content. Therefore, this large file size is justified and players should not be surprised if it exceeds 200 GB post-installation.
Thankfully, Activision typically allows preloading for major releases which means you can download the Black Ops 6 ahead of its official release and start playing as soon as it goes live.
Is Black Ops 6 300 GB?
No, the next CoD title will not weigh around 300 GB. This information quickly went viral after the game’s Xbox page listed the massive file size under the installation section.
However, Activision later confirmed that the estimated file size (300 GB) currently displayed on the Black Ops 6 pre-order pages does not represent the download size or disk footprint for Black Ops 6.
Instead, the sizes mentioned on the pages include the full installations of Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Warzone and all relevant content packs, including all localized languages combined which is not representative of a typical player install experience.
As always, players will be able to download BLOPS 6 at launch without downloading any other Call of Duty titles or all of the language packs.
