Black Ops 6 Game Pass access is coming for Xbox and Microsoft users upon launch, Microsoft has confirmed.
The hype around Black Ops 6 is picking up pace, and so are the official teasers. Earlier today, Activision dropped a piping-hot trailer that fanned the rumors of Saddam Hussein being one of the game’s antagonists.
Fans are excited for Black Ops 6 Game Pass access
The short trailer, titled “Black Ops 6: The Truth Lies,” included lookalikes of Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, and George H. W. Bush.
Soon after publishing the trailer, Microsoft greeted fans with another great news—Black Ops 6 will be part of the company’s Netflix-style subscription service.
“We’re excited to confirm that Game Pass members will be able to jump into Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on day one with Game Pass.,” Xbox’s senior community lead Megan Spurr said.
While there were plenty of rumors of the next Call of Duty title arriving on Game Pass, reports of Microsoft reconsidering the move dampened player excitement.
Activision reportedly hesitated because COD games generate massive revenue for the company, which they would have to forgo by putting Black Ops 6 on Game Pass.
But Microsoft has now confirmed that Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy the next installment without extra cost.
However, some players are still worried about a potential increase in the monthly subscription fee. The cost of COD games alone is $70, which is quite significant given the current pricing of games.
It remains to be seen how Activision will make up for any potential decrease in revenue from adding the game to a subscription service. The company has not yet addressed this concern.
In any case, the excitement around the upcoming game is at an all-time high. Black Ops 6, which is reportedly set in the Gulf War, will have an official reveal during a special stream after the main Xbox summer showcase on June 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. PT.
