After revealing the story of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, Activision has now shared details regarding the Black Ops 6 Zombies gameplay.

The details were posted on the official Call of Duty blog, where the developers discussed what players can expect to see in the Zombies mode.

As expected, there are going to be some new changes and additions, while some features from the previous games will also be making a return.

We’re going to discuss the major additions in this guide. For a list of changes and additions, you can head over to the official blog post.

Black Ops 6 will be introducing some new features and items to the Zombies mode, which you can see below.

New maps

Black Ops 6 Zombies continues with the Dark Aether storyline. This time, the Terminus Island and Liberty Falls are the targets of the outbreak. When the game launches, both locations will be available as playable maps.

First, we have Terminus. This is one of the biggest maps we’ve ever seen in Call of Duty Zombies, and you can have a look at it through the official Terminus reveal trailer below.

Charlie INTEL also shared 17 minutes of Black Ops 6 Zombies gameplay, which gives us a closer and deeper look at the new map and what the upcoming mode is going to offer.

You can watch the gameplay footage below, which is a reaction video from TimTheTatman.

As for Liberty Falls, we only know that this place is also overrun by deadly creatures, but the developers will share more details about it during the Call of Duty: Next event, which will take place on the 28th of August.

Save feature

An interesting feature coming to the Zombies mode is Save and Quit. As its name suggests, players will be able to save their progress and quit the match. Then, they can return and pick up from where they left off.

This will apply only to solo players, but it’s definitely a great feature for those who often have to rush between games or can’t spend hours in every match.

POV changes

If you’re not a fan of the classic first-person perspective in Call of Duty, then you’ll be pleased to know that Black Ops 6 Zombies will allow players to play in a third-person perspective.

There will be a button that will let you switch between the modes during the match, so you don’t have to worry about waiting for the match to finish before you can change it again.

New way to join a match

In Black Ops 6 Zombies, you will no longer have to worry about waiting for one of your friends to join the match so you can start it.

Instead, if there is any space left in the party, they will be able to hop in during the middle of the match.

This also confirms that disconnection issues will no longer pose a threat, as you’ll be able to simply rejoin the match if you get disconnected.

New Easter eggs

Easter egg quests have always been popular among Call of Duty Zombies players, and the developers have made sure to include them in Terminus as well.

There will be a quest for players to solve on the map, but it doesn’t stop there. The developers have confirmed that there will be several other secrets for players to find, so you’ll need to put in a lot of work.

According to the developers, Terminus is one of the largest round-based Zombies maps players have ever seen, so exploring all of it isn’t going to be a walk in the park.

However, there will be rafts that you’ll be able to use, which will make traveling easy.

Also, keep in mind that the developers won’t provide any details on how to solve the Easter egg quest. Instead, the community will have to work together on it in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

Returning features

Several features and items from the previous Call of Duty games will be making a return in Black Ops 6 Zombies.

To begin with, Field Upgrades, Augments, Wonder Weapons, Pack-a-Punch, Wall Buys, Power-Ups, Perk Machines, and Mystery Boxes will be present in the game.

For those wondering, there will be a mixture of new and old perks, and the full list will be confirmed when the game launches.

Similar to how it worked in Black Ops Cold War, you will get the option to either exfil from the map or die normally. On top of that, you’ll have the luxury to create multiple support items from the game.

As far as the in-game currency is concerned, both Essence and Salvage currencies will be present in Black Ops 6.

Finally, GobbleGums, which can be used to gain a specific ability for a short period, will be making a return. This will make a lot of players happy, as these gums have always been a big part of the Zombies mode.

And, of course, customized loadouts are still going to be a thing. So, you’ll be able to edit and select your loadout before the match starts.
