Black Ops 6 has a variety of light machine guns, one of which is the iconic XMG.

It’s a fully automatic LMG that is well known for its massive magazine capacity and shooting accuracy. However, similar to many other weapons, the XMG is locked by default, which means you can’t use it right away.

Therefore, here’s a comprehensive guide to unlocking the XMG light machine gun in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

Here’s how to unlock XMG in Black Ops 6

The XMG can be unlocked once a player reaches level 13 in Black Ops 6. Once you’ve reached the level requirement, you can finally get your hands on the XMG by heading to the weapons section in the game.

The best way to level up fast in the game is by completing daily and weekly challenges. The best part is these challenges feature relatively simple objectives such as taking kills, scoring headshots, eliminating zombies, etc.

We strongly recommend taking advantage of the double XP events. Just as the name hints, you’ll earn twice the XP for the same amount of effort.

Finally, in-game modes like Domination and Hardpoint, capturing and holding points is key to earning XP. The longer you hold a point, the more XP you’ll accumulate and level up faster in the game.

When it comes to the weapon characteristics, the XMG comes with a total of three magazines each with a capacity of 100 bullets. However, the only downside of the XMG is its slow fire rate which is essential for sustained fire accuracy, but the weapon is simply not meant for players with aggressive playstyle.

Therefore, we suggest using XMG mostly during mid-ranged combat, especially when you’re playing the Zombies mode in which you can’t afford continuous reloads. As always, you can pair the XMG with the right attachments to get the most out of it, so make sure to check back for the loadout guide if you’re unable to figure out the best class setup.
