“Your profile was signed out” error in MW3 explained
Modern Warfare 3’s Multiplayer, like many live service games, has some network-related issues due to its live service nature.
Among them is the “Your profile was signed out” error that kicks you out of a match with only quitting to your desktop or restarting your game as options.
This glitch often arises due to internet and server issues, which can originate from your end, the developer, or the platform.
Whenever the game client is not able to establish a connection with the server, you will get the said error.
How to fix “Your profile was signed out” error in MW3
While there is no official statement or fix on the said error, so far, we have noticed that this problem arises due to three primary reasons:
- MW3 game servers going down while you are playing
- Steam servers restart
- Internet connectivity issue
While you cannot control the game’s server or Steam’s server restart, you can check the server status of the game and Steam in case you are playing the game via the said platform.
PlayStation and Xbox users must also check whether their respective platform’s online services are working fine. Once the checks are done and assuming everything is fine from the developer and platform’s end, the next thing you must check is your internet connection.
Remember that if your internet gets disconnected even for a second, you can get kicked out of the game. We have experienced it, and so does many other players.
So, to fix the “Your profile was signed out” glitch, ensure your connection is stable and you are not using any VPN or unusual setting that may cause internet connectivity issues.
We also recommend switching to a wired connection as the Wi-Fi network is very unstable in most cases, and having multiple Wi-Fis with auto-connects often changes the network based on the signal strength.
