The Black Ops 6 Season 1 reloaded update marks the addition of a brand new multiplayer perk known as Shrapnel Radar perk. The perk is responsible for marking the injured target on the map minimap affected by the blast damage dealt from area-of-effect Lethals, Tacticals, and Field Upgrades.
However, as is tradition, the Shrapnel Radar perk is locked by default in Black Ops 6. So if you’re wondering how to unlock it in the game, here’s everything you need to know.
How to get the Shrapnel Radar perk in Black Ops 6
The only way to unlock the Shrapnel Radar perk in Black Ops 6 Season 1 reloaded is by earning 340,800 XP in the Merry Mayhem event. There are 14 tiers of rewards available in this event one of which is the highly sought-after Shrapnel Radar perk.
Thankfully, you can earn the aforementioned XP across multiple gameplay modes such as multiplayer, zombies and Warzone battle royale. So you’re not forced to compete in a certain gameplay mode or finish a challenge.
The best way to earn XP quickly in Black Ops 6 is by killing as many zombies as possible in the Tier I, II and III zones. This simple activity rewards a ton of XP in a short time period.
Apart from this, we also suggest completing the daily challenges, contracts and taking as many kills as possible during the multiplayer matches.
However, keep in mind that the Merry Mayhem event runs until December 17 which means you only have a few days to earn the XP and unlock the Shrapnel Radar perk in Black Ops 6.
Black Ops 6 Shrapnel Radar perk tips and tricks
To make the most of the Shrapnel Radar perk, use explosives like grenades or mines that can hit multiple enemies at once. When these explosives hit someone, the perk marks them on your minimap which makes it easier for you to track where they are.
To take full advantage, throw or place your explosives in spots where enemies are likely to pass, like doorways, tight hallways, or near objectives in game modes like Domination or Hardpoint. If you can predict where enemies will go, you’ll mark more of them and get the upper hand.
When you see someone marked on the minimap, it’s a chance to plan your next move—either chase them down or let your teammates know where they’re hiding. You’ll be able to outsmart your enemies and stay one step ahead by using your explosives wisely and paying attention to the minimap.
