The Toronto Ultra have looked toward former Los Angeles Thieves player Dylan “Envoy” Hannon to help them in the 2024 Call of Duty League season.

The organization revealed the signing on Twitter with the line “From a Prince to a King. Welcome to the North,” paying homage to the King of the North theme from the popular TV series Game of Thrones.

Toronto Ultra adds Envoy for CDL 2024 season

The Toronto Ultra didn’t have a terrible end of the year, finishing second place at the CDL Championship. The team managed to defeat other top squads like the Thieves and Atlantaz FaZe on their way to the finals. However, the way in which they finished second seems to have led to some adjustments.

The Canadian-based organization took on the New York Subliners in the grand final, a rematch of the winner’s final. In the earlier match, Toronto proved to be too powerful, taking down the Subliners 3-0 to earn their berth into the main event.

That match was a complete flip, however, as the New York team came in swinging and never slowed down. Toronto would be the first team to lose 5-0 at Call of Duty Champs.

Shortly after the event, Charlie “Hicksy” Hicks and the organization went their separate ways. This left an opening, and it seems the ex-Thieves player will be the one to step in.

Some were surprised by Hicksy’s departure, given how successful the squad was after picking him up. They immediately won the CDL 2023 Major 3 and, as mentioned before, made it to second place at the year’s pinnacle event.

While not confirmed, the organization currently sports the roster of Envoy, Tobias “CleanX” Juul Jønsson, Jamie “Insight” Craven, and Thomas “Scrappy” Ernst.
