The melee collection continues to evolve with the release of Cleaver in Black Ops 6 and Warzone as part of the Season 1 reloaded update.
The BO6 Cleaver is a one-hit kill short-range weapon that has also been featured in the previous Call of Duty titles such as Modern Warfare Remastered and Infinite Warfare.

How to unlock Cleaver in Black Ops 6 and Warzone
The Cleaver is a brutal melee weapon perfect for close-range fights. Here are ther weapon’s features:
- Damage: One-hit kill.
- Range: Works best at short to medium range.
- Speed: Medium attack speed with a mix of heavy and light swings.
- Extras: You can unlock skins for it and earn mastery badges but no attachments are available.
It’s a fantastic choice for players who love sneaky takedowns or fighting up close. The best part is it’s effective against both enemy players and zombies.
The Cleaver melee is an unlockable reward during the Squid Game Event. It serves as the mastery reward in the free track of the Squid Game Event Pass.
To unlock the Cleaver, you need to accumulate a total of 356,000 XP during the event, which runs from January 3 to 24, 2025.
You can also access the Cleaver in the Black Ops 6 Campaign mission “Most Wanted.” During this mission, if you choose the “Mystery Man” option, you’ll get a chance to use the Cleaver to take down one of Senator McKenna’s guard.
