Call of Duty Warzone Caldera took the world by storm as the second map added to the battle royale portion of the popular franchise.

Warzone took over a large portion of the industry starting with its release in 2020, but Caldera won’t be continuing any further.

Caldera certainly wasn’t the most popular release, with many of the games players still largely preferring the original map, Verdansk, over the new tropical island.

According to Activision Blizzard, “As of September 21, 2023, Call of Duty®: Warzone™ Caldera will shut down, as our teams focus on future Call of Duty content including the current Warzone free-to-play experience.”

However, if you’re wondering what happens to your purchased content, it should be safe.

“Regarding purchased content in Warzone Caldera – from Modern Warfare® (2019), Black Ops Cold War, or Vanguard – that will continue to be accessible in those specific games,” Activision Blizzard clarified in the official post.

Also important to note is that this will not impact multiplayer in Modern Warfare 2019, Black Ops Cold War, or Vanguard.

In addition, Activision Blizzard told fans to “Please note that the Warzone Caldera shut down has no impact to current Warzone gameplay, inventory, or player progression in Al Mazrah or the other available maps, and we look forward to continuing with you in that new Warzone experience.”
