Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has introduced various game modes since its release, featuring both new and classic modes that have been fundamental to the series.
This ONE Esports guide covers all you need to know about the Cutthroat game mode introduced in MW3.
Cutthroat in MW3 introduces a new multi-team battle mode
This new, round-based game mode pits three teams of three (3v3v3) against each other where they are tasked to take out the other two teams.
If multiple teams are still alive after the countdown timer has ended, whichever team captures the flag in the middle of the map will win the round.
While there are no respawns in a round, you can enter a downed state like in warzone to either be revived or finished off. Dead players will respawn in the next round.
To Call of Duty veterans, this is similar to the Gunfight game mode with the core difference, aside from an increased team size, is the ability to use custom loadouts instead of random ones.
Regardless of map, we strongly recommend playing this mode at a slower pace, taking your time to navigate and hunt down your enemies, since you only have a single life per round.
Having voice chat is incredibly useful to ensure your team is aware which areas of the map have been cleared or where an enemy is in greater detail.
With the fast paged action in more popular modes, this more tactical approach to the typical multiplayer formula is certainly a welcomed change.
