The Portable Decontamination Station or PDS field upgrade returns in Call of Duty Warzone with the launch of Season 2 Reloaded update.
In this article, we explain the unique mechanics of this device, and provide you with insights on how to effectively use it to gain an advantage on the battlefield.
PDS field upgrade in Warzone explained
The PDS releases chemicals that neutralize the deadly gas circle within a limited area, thus creating a temporary safe zone for all the players inside it, and allowing them to remove their gas masks.
This gives you and your teammates space to regroup, strategize, and plan your next move, especially during crucial moments in a match.
However, the makeshift safe zone generated by the PDS field upgrade is visible to all players on the tac map, exposing your location to enemies.
Nonetheless, you can turn this to your advantage by luring opponents into the area, and ambushing them from a strategic vantage point.
Furthermore, you can deploy it on water or attach it to your vehicle, enabling you to drive through the gas for a limited time. Go to a buy station to reactivate it.
Keep in mind that the duration of the device shortens after the sixth circle of gas, and it is vulnerable to destruction by enemy players once deployed.
