The Monguls journey through the eEXTREMESLAND Asia Cup 2023 brackets
The Mongulz won both their group stage games. During the group stage, they defeated Tyloo, a prominent team from China that went the distance in a third overtime.
Qualifying for the semifinals, the Mongolians were up against Team NKT. It was a tough fight, especially in game three where it once again entered overtime, with The Mongulz eking out a win with a 19-17 score.
Earning their spot in the grand final, they took on their toughest challenge yet.
Lynn Vision Gaming (LVG), an absolute beast of a team from China who won every game of this tournament so far, was now the only team left standing in their way to victory. The pressure was on, with pride on the line, and the hopes of their home country.
LVG started strong with a four round lead in the beginning of game one, but failed to capitalize on their strong economy. This allowed The Mongulz to not only make a comeback, but take game point during overtime with a 16-14 score.
In game two, it was apparent that The Mongulz’s momentum couldn’t be stopped. One last kill by Ayush “mzinho” Batbold Hammering hammered the final nail in LVG’s coffin, completing the 2-0 sweep to win the eXTREMESLAND Asia Cup 2023, taking home USD$25,000.
