BSJ believes that Weaver is the strongest carry in Dota 2 patch 7.30d
Due to the changes in the recent Dota 2 patches, the game has shifted from ultra-late game hard carries into a more mid-game centered tempo.
In other words, the stack meta has been nerfed, and late-game carries such as Sven and Luna, weakened.
This has resulted in aggressive carries such as Monkey King, Slark, and Weaver emerging as the best carries in Dota 2 patch 7.30d, which The International will be played on.
Weaver is one of the most mobile heroes in the game who can deal a significant amount of burst damage to low-armor heroes. Moreover, The Swarm is a fantastic team-fight spell during the mid-stages of the game.
Combined with the fact that Shukuchi and Time Lapse makes it difficult to pin Weaver down, this makes him a fantastic carry to have on your team.
BSJ believes that Weaver can be played in almost any role
One of the things about Weaver that BSJ believes makes the hero a powerful pick is his flexibility. The hero can be first picked in a draft and then rotated to a carry, offlane, or even support if needed in Dota 2 patch 7.30d.
This flexibility is highly valued in the professional scene. Captains prefer to keep their core picks till later in the draft, to ensure the best matchups possible for them, so Weaver’s flexibility gives captains a lot of options to work with.
No matter the role he is picked in, BSJ believes the best way to play the hero is to be as aggressive as possible. Weaver’s high early game damage makes him ideal for skirmishes. The hero scales well into the late game, but gets overshadowed by other stronger carries.
