Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan is back, back again.
The midlaner returns to Nigma Galaxy after a brief stint in China, the organization officially announced today.
The 24-year-old’s last stint with Nigma started in May 2022 and lasted a year, before he was loaned to Aster for the rest of the 2023 competitive season. The midlaner played for Team Aster for six months but did not qualify for The International 2023.
This roster news comes in the wake of several departures from Nigma Galaxy, with hopes that the team will continue to compete into 2024.

Nigma Galaxy Dota 2 roster for 2024 adds SumaiL, but is still thin
- Syed Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan
- Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi
Even with SumaiL’s addition, Nigma Galaxy’s roster is looking bare. Four players in its active roster left the team, or moved to inactivity, including two longtime teammates of KuroKy: Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov and Maroun “GH” Merhej.
With just two active members on NGX’s roster, more additions are sure to come. Without the Dota Pro Circuit, there’s no official roster lock — though the team is likely to keep competing in the MENA region, similar to Team Falcons, regardless of the nationalities on their team.
Nigma Galaxy formed in 2019, now features just one player of its original roster. The team had an illustrious history — but under the new organization, NGX are still yet to attend The International, including its most recent attempt when they fell to Alliance in the TI12 Western Europe Regional Qualifiers.
