It’s a blockbuster collaboration between two of esports’ biggest names — G2 Esports is plunging deep into a new esport, partnering with Chinese organization Invictus Gaming.
G2 will finally have its Dota 2 roster, and it’s stacked to the brim with some of China’s biggest names. The new team, named G2.iG, dropped a surprise announcement yesterday with a phenomenally produced video.

G2.iG Dota 2 roster for 2024
G2 had been looking to enter the MOBA for a long time, according to the official press release, but a focus on expanding at a “sustainable pace” meant that the European-based organization was looking for the “right entry point or partner.”
Both organizations are juggernauts in their respective regions. G2 Esports fields one of Counter-Strike’s most popular and dominant teams and is also a mainstay in League of Legends, where its team has won multiple LEC titles and the Mid-Season Invitational in 2019.
Invictus Gaming has consistently remained one of China’s best esports organizations. It’s one of 10 organizations to have ever lifted the Aegis of Champions, winning in 2012 with one of Dota’s most legendary rosters.
G2.iG roster for 2024
- Du “Monet” Peng
- Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang
- Thiay “JT-” Jun Wen
- Ye “BoBoKa” Zhibiao
- Yap “xNova” Jian Wei
The roster underwent a massive revamp in the offseason, picking up several of China’s superstars.
Monet, formerly of Team Aster and Royal Never Given Up, has been widely regarded as one of the region’s best hard carries, while NothingToSay has established himself as a phenomenal midlaner during his time with LGD.
xNova, also formerly of LGD fame, is the roster’s hard support, while JT- and BoBoKa return after former stints with the organization.
The roster is debuting at ESL One Kuala Lumpur, where they will face off against two other Chinese teams that also underwent significant changes over the offseason — Azure Ray and LGD Gaming.
